Stand out as a professional speaker

SpeakingOfWealth.comIf you’ve been pursuing a career as a professional speaker for a while, it probably hasn’t escaped your attention that it’s a pretty crowded field out there. For those with the gift of gab, talking for a living is a natural escape from the 9 to 5 cubicle world that so many of us live in. Cisco 642-425

But how do you grab the plum gigs? How do you make yourself stand out as the brand of choice among a field overrun with competitors? Good questions both. We’ll see what we can do to help you out.

The first thing to do is practice, practice, practice. You should aim to speak in front of a group at least three times a week, even if it’s for free. There is absolutely no better way to develop your skills as a professional speaker than practicing the craft for real. How do you find enough gigs to deliver a speech thrice weekly? Get creative. Look around. Volunteer to present at conferences. Check into talking at continuing education classes or your local elementary or secondary school. Find and join a local chapter of the National Speakers Association (NSA).

Famous speakers like Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and Tony Robbins took years to develop into the “rock stars” they are now. Don’t quite your full time job just yet but DO develop a long term strategic plan to get from where you are now to where you want to be.

If you love being a professional speaker – go for it!
