Top Reasons to Join Google+

Have you heard about Google+, but are not sure if it’s worth the time? Google+ is a growing social network, full of opportunity and promise. Here are some of the top reasons to join Google+ while it’s still in its relative infancy.

Marketing and SEO

An important thing to recognize about Google+ from a marketing perspective is this: with Google+, you will appear higher in Google’s search engine. With the right strategies, Google+ can provide an effective SEO (Search Engine Optimization) boost.

How? First of all, when something gets shared on Google+ and a follower searches a related keyword, your shared post will show up on the first page of search results. By claiming authorship of your content via Google+, you can also gain SEO benefits. There’s even the option to add a Google badge to your site, further improving SEO marketing strategies.

Google+ Shows More

If you’re trying to weigh Facebook vs. Google for marketing purposes, there’s one important element to take into consideration. Because of Facebook’s recent Edgerank algorithm adjustments, only a few posts show up on your followers feeds. Google+ doesn’t have the same algorithm, and will allow users to post to individual Circles along with public posts to the entire Google+ community.

Awesome Features

Google+ has some great features which just can’t be found elsewhere. With Google’s social network, users have the benefit of Circles. What Circles do is make it easy for users to organize their content, how they want to see it, and exactly how much of it they want to see.

Google+ also has the benefit of “Hangouts.” Hangouts are like supercharged chat rooms which can allow users to engage with up to 10 people at once. That’s not all, though. Hangouts also give the user the ability to broadcast to a live stream. Though only 10 people can join the actual Hangout, an unlimited amount of people can watch your broadcast.

Better Response

Though Google+ may seem less of an opportunity because it has a smaller following than Twitter or Facebook, this might actually be one of the less obvious benefits of Google+. This means you have to struggle less to be noticed on Google+. You’re a big fish in a small pond, so to speak. Less competition equals better response.

Even some of the “social network celebrities” seem easier to communicate to on Google+, which results in better connections. Jason Hartman knows connections can benefit proprietors of just about any industry. Furthermore, Google+ is still growing. Get big on this blooming social network while it’s still small, and gain a promising advantage on your competition.
